چکیده

Abstract Cases of landslides on clay shale slopes have been an intriguing study in Indonesia. Most the failed due to weathering rock. As studies focused properties shale, several FEM analyses indicated a unique translational type failure between interface and its overburden. However, modeling case was still limited. This aims evaluate landslide using thin-soil model software. The used two conditions, extreme groundwater level conditions. There were iterations shear strength parameters layer conducted. Results that could portray condition at landslide. Compared laboratory results, would fail high degree saturation water infiltration surface. Also, granular overburden with permeability had higher chance than cohesive From this opened path incorporating slope analysis. further are needed other cases synthesize repeatability.

A Proposed Modeling Method in Finite Element Slope Stability Analysis

Limit-equilibrium method (LEM) and finite element method (FEM) with strength reduction method (SRM) techniques are the most widely used analysis tools in slope stability assessment. Recently, researchers have reported that both factor of safety (FOS) values and failure surfaces obtained from LEM and FEM are generally in good agreement, except in some particular cases. In this paper, the FOS and...

Numerical investigation on the pullout shear strength of soil-nail interface using finite element method

Soil nailing is a popular reinforcement method for stabilizing slopes, excavations, and retaining walls in many countries. The pullout capacity of the soil-nail interface is a critical parameter for the design and safety assessment of soil-nailed systems. In this paper, a three-dimensional (3D) finite element (FE) model is developed using the commercial program ABAQUS to simulate the pullout te...

Stability Analysis of Salt Cavern Gas Storage Using 2D Thermo-Hydro-Mechanical Finite-Element Software

Ensuring the stability and integrity of underground gas storage salt caverns is a very complicated subject due to the non-linear and time-dependent behavior of rock salts under complicated thermal and mechanical loading conditions. For this reason, pressure and temperature fluctuations in the caverns and their surrounding strata must be integrated into the analysis and the numerical tools that ...

Rock Slope Stability Analysis Using Discrete Element Method

Rock slope stability depends very much on the strength features of the rock and the geometrical and strength characteristics of the discontinuities (e.g., roughness, wall strength and persistence). Since a rock mass is not a continuum, its behavior is dominated by such discontinuities as faults, joints and bedding planes. Also, Rock slope instability is a major hazard for human activities and o...

Evaluating the Performance of Dowel in PCC Pavement of Roads using ABAQUS Finite Element Software

In Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavement of the roads, dowels bar transfers vehicle loading to the unloaded slab. Load Transfer Efficiency (LTE) is used to evaluate dowel bars in PCC pavement. This parameter is defined as the vertical displacement ratio of the loaded slab versus the unloaded slab. In this study, the impact of effective factors (friction coefficient between dowel and concrete ...
